TVLine is reporting that ‘Sons of Anarchy’ season 5 has added some real street cred to its SAMCRO ranks, casting real-life Hells Angel Rusty Coones in the role of of biker Nomad president Quinn, a character talked about since the first season. According to ‘Sons of Anarchy’ series creator Kurt Sutter, we’ll first meet the character in the season’s ninth episode.
The 6-foot-5, 285-lb. biker/musician is the founder of the Orange County chapter of Hells Angels, and has served as president of the motorcycle club’s San Fernando Valley chapter as well. His heavy-metal band, Attika7, has contributed a few songs to the ‘Sons of Anarchy’ soundtrack over the seasons, and his bike shop Illusion Motorsports has custom-built a few motorcycles for the ‘Sons of Anarchy’ creator as well.
Coons isn’t the only Hells Angel to appear in the season either, as fellow biker Chuck Zito will appear several times throughout the season as nomad biker Frankie Diamonds, who becomes inducted into SAMCRO. Other ‘Sons of Anarchy’ season 5 guest stars include Disney Channel star Ashley Tisdale as Emma Jean, a high-priced escort who complicates SAMCRO’s life for two, possibly more episodes, Billy Brown as August Marks, right-hand man to Harold Perrineau’s major villain character Damon Pope; as well as ‘Community‘ star Joel McHale as Warren, a con man who crosses the wrong person.
