Outlaw bikies unite over anti-association laws

OUTLAW motorcycle gang leaders vowed to continue a high-profile campaign against proposed anti-association laws as about 600 bikies and supporters rode across Perth in protest yesterday.
Police led and trailed the bikies on the 40km run between Fremantle and Whiteman Park in Caversham, but reported no incidents during the one-hour protest.
Bikies from rival gangs rode under the banner of the United Motorcycles Council WA - part of a national group formed to 2fight the State Government's anti-4association legislation, which would give police the power to ban bikies from associating with one another and visiting certain locations.
The laws are based on legislation in effect in South Australia and also planned in other states.
Council spokesman Peter Godfree, a Coffin Cheater, said there was no tension between gangs yesterday despite members from every patch in WA and some from interstate.
