Laws labels Wanganui bylaw a success - Västförbud New Zealand

Just eight days after it came into effect, Wanganui’s bylaw banning gang patches and insignia in public places is being labelled a success by the city’s mayor, Michael Laws.

So far four men from three different gangs have been arrested; including Peter Randal Nahona, who Laws says was the reason behind the bylaw in the first place.

The 45-year-old Mongrel Mob president was not in court, but pleaded guilty to displaying gang insignia without reasonable excuse through his lawyer.
