Gangs Squad detectives have today arrested an alleged high-ranking Outlaw Motorcycle Gang member, following ongoing investigations under two State Crime Command strike forces.

About 7.15am today, a 28-year-old man was arrested by police at a home in Georges Hall and taken to Bankstown Police Station where charges are expected to be laid.

Police allege the man is a high-ranking member of the Comanchero Outlaw Motorcycle Gang (OMCG).

A search warrant is currently being conducted by police at the home in Georges Hall.

Today's arrest relates to ongoing investigations by Gangs Squad detectives under Strike Force Mezen and Strike Force Eastbourne.

Strike Force Mezen was established to investigate the alleged attempted murder of a Hells Angels member after he was shot several times as he sat in his car in the driveway of a Lakemba home on March 29, 2009.

The incident happened days after the death of Hells Angels associate Anthony Zervas at Sydney Domestic terminal on 22 March 2009, following a brawl between Comanchero and Hells Angels OMCG members and associates.

To date, a total of seven people have been arrested by Strike Force Mezen detectives in relation to the shooting.

Strike Force Eastbourne was established to investigate the circumstances surrounding the alleged theft of 12 vehicles from a Liverpool holding yard on 14 February, 2009.

It is alleged a group of 13 men entered the holding yard before allegedly assaulting three male employees, locking one of them in the boot of a car and the other two in a separate vehicle. The group stole keys from the premises before driving off with a dozen cars.

Police will allege the estimated total value of the stolen vehicles is $500,000. Following extensive investigations, police have now recovered all 12 of the stolen vehicles and to date a total of seven people have been arrested by Strike Force Eastbourne detectives.
