video - Bandidos shooting warns bikie truce over

THE Bandidos Mermaid Beach stronghold was peppered with shots from a high-powered weapon in a dawn attack on the outlaw motorcycle gang's headquarters yesterday.

Police have warned against acts of retaliation and say they are 'hopeful' the incident will not spark a violent bikie turf war.

The officers were on the backfoot after the incident was reported to the media hours before police were notified.
Residents told police they heard several shots fired about 4am.

"The club members were cooperative - they came down and allowed us entry into the clubhouse so we could conduct our examinations," he said.
He says the general public should not be concerned.
