Guilty plea over brawl at Sydney Airport

ONE of 12 men charged over a fatal brawl at Sydney Airport almost a year ago has pleaded guilty to charges of riot and affray, with prosecutors withdrawing a charge of murder.

Arnold Loto, 41, from Heckenberg, was the last of a dozen men with links to the Comanchero bikie gang to be charged over the March 22 melee. The men are accused of murdering Anthony Zervas, 29, whose brother is senior Hells Angels member Peter Zervas, during the brawl, which rolled through two levels of the domestic terminal at Mascot.

Mr Zervas died after suffering serious head injuries and being stabbed with scissors.

Today, Loto's barrister Dina Yehia SC, formally entered pleas of guilty to charges of riot and affray on his behalf.

Of the murder charge, crown prosecutor Natalie Adams told Cental Local Court: "In the circumstances I'm happy for it to be withdrawn."
